Pay per lead is attractive because the bar is set low. Getting a person to sign up for something is more feasible than getting someone to make a purchase. Many CPA programs have secondary payout tiers for leads that become customers, which is advantageous. PPL programs are helpful during slow periods and commission droughts (droughts happen to the best of us). On the other hand, because the trigger event is less demanding than a sale, pay per lead programs typically pay low amounts, for example, $0.01 per lead. Also, focusing exclusively on PPL programs will not lead to making thousands monthly.

Affiliate marketing has become a massive online industry over the past several years, emerging as both an effective way for marketers to sell their products and services and for publishers to monetize their audiences. Despite the popularity of affiliate marketing, many publishers still aren’t aware of exactly what affiliate marketing is or how it works. In some cases, these publishers are gatekeepers to an audience that could be very effectively monetized through affiliate marketing, meaning that they’re passing up an attractive revenue stream.
Purchased lists are ineffective, and they impact everyone else who uses Mailchimp, too. If you send emails to a list of people whose contact info you bought, many of the emails will get identified as spam. Some spam filters will flag a campaign if anyone with the same IP has sent spam in the past. When you use Mailchimp, your email is delivered through our servers, so if one person sends spam, it could prevent other users’ emails from reaching inboxes. But by forbidding Mailchimp users from using purchased lists, we increase deliverability for everyone.

Their product is overpriced and there are way too many unnecessary upsells. The Super Affiliate Network is super expensive. Their training focuses more on how to generate traffic using paid methods. This is also one more reason why someone with no prior experience in affiliate marketing should avoid it. You will have to spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars before seeing any results or earning your money back. Solo ads are not an easy way to make sales.

However, if you are selling a niche product (with a smaller market potential – for example: commemorative and collectable plates) you may need to offer a higher commission rate to entice affiliates to join the program. You’ll have fewer affiliates but they will be highly motivated. This can result in more sales for your and ultimately more revenue.


Building trust with your audience is paramount in affiliate marketing, and the quickest way to lose trust is to recommend products either you haven’t used before or that aren’t a good fit for your audience. Also make sure you never tell anyone to directly buy a product, you are simply recommending the product. The more helpful you are and the more you make quality recommendations, the more likely your web visitors will come back for your expertise.

Sometimes, individual entrepreneurs with great products are worth a look, although you should check them out first and do some research.
